FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW LONG DOES EACH THERAPY SESSION TAKE?
Therapy sessions are scheduled for 50 minutes each. An initial intake session could take up to 60 minutes to ensure that all of your questions are answered and that we have time to get to know each other.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT IN A THERAPY SESSION?
You probably have a unique set of questions and goals. The structure of our therapy sessions will largely depend on these factors. What you can expect is a safe space where you can share openly. I promise to accept, acknowledge, and support you as you work toward your goals.
WHAT TYPES OF THERAPY MODALITIES DO YOU USE?
As a therapist, I tailor my style to each individual client and their needs at the time of the session. I work using cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), humanistic, systems, and existential methods.
HOW MUCH DOES THERAPY COST?
Currently, I am in-network with ComPsych, Cigna, Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and Highmark insurance. I also accept private pay and out-of-network benefits for services. An initial session is $200 and each subsequent session is $180. I can also work with clients on a sliding scale fee structure so that finances do not limit your ability to obtain the help and services that you need.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM AN ASSESSMENT SESSION?
For all assessments, we will start with a clinical interview to gather background information. There will then be psychological testing that will be completed, which varies greatly depending on the nature of the assessment.
